WHO ARE WE?
The purpose of Sefton Talking Newspaper is to provide a free weekly news and magazine audio programme on USB/Memory Stick for our listeners who are mainly visually impaired
Sefton Talking Newspaper is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers and it is self-funded through occasional donations, grants, awards and fund-raising activities.

WHAT DO I NEED IF I BECOME A LISTENER?
-
You will need any device which can take a standard USB/Memory Stick. Eg Laptop. PC or Daisy Player.
-
But don’t worry if you don’t have any equipment to listen with - we are able to lend you a basic, easy to use play-back speaker. No charge!
-
We send out a Memory Stick/USB to you each week, you listen to it, then you or a friend pops it back into a post box to return it to us. Free postage!
WHAT IF I’D LIKE TO BE INVOLVED IN SOME WAY?
If you have some time on your hands we are always looking for Volunteers! We are a very friendly bunch.

Roles include:
*Reading /Sourcing items
*Recording
*Checking
*Admin
Some volunteers work on a weekly or fortnightly basis for a couple of hours; others sometimes prefer to provide ‘as and when’ back-up support in the event of absence (holidays, sickness etc).

The tasks are not onerous or boring and people soon pick up what needs to be done under the guidance of the ‘old hands’.
